Jose Mourinho has revealed he deliberately got himself fired as Chelsea manager – because he wants to join Liverpool.
The Portuguese gnome said he had never considered Anfield until witnessing Jurgen Klopp’s reaction to securing a 2-2 draw with West Brom.
“Yes, I have won Champions Leagues, FA Cups and league titles, but never have I been as happy as Jurgen was at that moment,” Mourinho said.
“It was, how you say, a real eye-opener. For me, it’s not about the money anymore, but the joy of the game.”
Mourinho added that his reputation for managerial brilliance is based on “being a bit of a dick, pouting and exaggerated shrugs”.
He said he expects to take up the Liverpool role when Klopp’s erratic behaviour is no longer considered endearing, but a bit weird.
“I’ll give it till February,” he said.
